When you must be accredited
Any person or company that provides a passenger transport service in South Australia, such as taxis, buses, passenger vehicles and coaches, must be accredited.
Small passenger vehicle (SPV) operator accreditation is for vehicles with a seating capacity of 12 seats or less, including the driver.
Large passenger vehicle (LPV) operator accreditation is for vehicles with a seating capacity of 13 or more, including the driver.

Apply for operator accreditation
Step 1
Complete the
application for operator accreditation form (PDF 58KB) and have your signature witnessed by a Justice of the Peace.
Step 2
If you intend to operate small passenger vehicles or large passenger vehicles you must complete and submit a
plan of operation (PDF 178KB) with your application.
Step 3
If you have driver accreditation go to step 4.
If you don't have driver accreditation:
You will receive a letter in the mail from the Department for Families and Communities stating the National Police Check has been progressed.
Step 4
If you are in Metropolitan Adelaide - take the completed forms to the Accreditation and Licensing Centre.
If you are in country South Australia - take the completed forms to a Service SA customer service centre.
After lodging your application it will be assessed and you will be notified of any other requirements needed before it is approved. This may include training.
