Driving a passenger vehicle

Drivers of public passenger vehicles must undergo an accreditation process to make sure they are fit and proper to undertake this work and are of good repute. This covers drivers of any public passenger vehicle used for hire fare or reward, such as taxis, buses and chauffeured vehicles.

large passenger vehicle accreditation is for vehicles with a seating capacity of 13 or more including the driver.

A small passenger vehicle accreditation is for vehicles of 12 seats or less, but does not include metropolitan taxis. See applying for a taxi accreditation.
