Traffic volume figures estimate the number of vehicles on State Government maintained roads. They are used to help manage, maintain and improve the traffic network. The two main measures are:
- annual average daily traffic estimates
- commercial (heavy) vehicle estimates.
Estimates of traffic volumes for particular roads and regions are available as a series of maps.
