HACC carers project

The State Government has initiated a HACC carers project to explore ways to respond to the needs and choices of HACC eligible carers. The project aims to develop a framework of practice about how the HACC program can maintain and strengthen the existing networks and supports carers have.

HOKJOK have been engaged to consult with HACC-funded agencies, carers and past carers.

The report from this project will be made available when completed.

Emerging Need Scoping Studies (ENSS)

The six ENSS reports present findings and recommendations on the community-based aged care needs of a number of South Australia’s most recently arrived migrant groups.

Those consulted were from 35 migrant communities of South Eastern European, Spanish speaking, South East Asian, Middle Eastern, North African and Sub Saharan African backgrounds. A separate study looked at the needs of the same groups in regional areas of SA.

The studies were undertaken between 2009 and 2011 by HOKJOK Consultants (five studies) and the African communities partnership (one study) on behalf of Disability, Ageing and Carers. The studies’ recommendations will inform the planning of future aged care services for the target communities.
