What is the Seniors Card?

The Seniors Card was introduced by the South Australian Government in 1993 to acknowledge the valuable contribution of seniors. The card encourages members to maintain an active lifestyle by entitling them to various discounts and special offers provided by hundreds of businesses across the state.

Seniors Card holders have access to discounts on a range of goods in the retail, finance, travel, hospitality and leisure sectors. They are also eligible for a wide range of benefits and state government concessions including free off-peak travel on Adelaide Metro public transport.

Why join the Seniors Card program as a business partner?

Partnering with the Seniors Card program means businesses have a direct link and targeted marketing to the fastest growing consumer segment in Australia.

  • Seniors retire from work, not life.
  • Seniors buy groceries, eat at restaurants, buy cars, use computers, go to the theatre, enjoy wine, renovate their homes, buy insurance and enjoy travelling. They are interested in health and fitness, family fun, investment and financial services, safety and security - the list is endless.
  • They shop not only for themselves, but also for their families, including children and grandchildren, and are the new influencers.
  • Seniors Card business partners have the ability to reach a market of more than 300,000 card holders in SA and over 3.3 million card holders throughout Australia.
  • Seniors are a powerful consumer group largely ignored by traditional advertising and are growing in number and spending power.
  • Seniors seek discounts from a diverse range of businesses including those catering for younger people.
  • Seniors have the time to shop around for the best deal.
By advertising in the Seniors Card Discount Directory, card holders will have information about the products and services your company can provide, right at their fingertips, for a period of 12 months (calendar year).

Business partner details will be available through the directory and website and will be provided to local and interstate card holders who enquire by phone or email.

Joining the Seniors Card program provides a point of difference for customers between your business and others that may offer similar products or services.

Upon joining, you will receive a variety of 'Seniors Card Welcome Here' decals to promote your business as a Seniors Card Business Partner.

By joining as a business partner, you gain the credibility of advertising in a South Australian Government publication and generate goodwill by supporting our seniors community.
