What is the bushfire protection areas web portal?
The bushfire protection areas web portal is used to assess proposed developments in bushfire prone areas. It is used by:
- local councils
- the Country Fire Service (CFS).
For general information about bushfire protection areas or to see if a property is in a bushfire prone area - see Bushfire protection areas.
The web portal provides information to help evaluate a development proposal in a bushfire prone area. This includes information about:
- specific risks at the proposed site
- if a development should be relocated or have special conditions imposed on it
- if an inspection will be needed before a final decision can be made.

Accessing the web portal
The web portal is available to CFS and local council staff. You will need to apply for a username and password.
To get accesss send an email to DPLG.SPARUnit@sa.gov.au or contact Planning data and maps with your:
- name
- job title
- phone number
- email address.
