Historically, departments and agencies across government used different regional boundaries and have had different definitions of what areas a particular region includes. A set of 12 consistent regional boundaries are now used across the South Australian government. These uniform regions strengthen links to the South Australian strategic plan. Government departments and agencies have developed reporting, planning and service delivery systems aligned with these regions and are using these to work with other public sector and local government partners to improve services.
