The proposal
Assessment stages and documentation The proposal
The proposal for the expansion of activities on the Liebelt Road property at Mylor by Jurlique International Pty Ltd indicates that the property is currently used for herb farming and existing structures are limited to farm buildings.
The proposal includes the construction of:
- a company administration building of 900 square metres to accommodate 50 employees
- a dormitory building of 350 square metres to accommodate 26 local, interstate and overseas staff and/or associated industry personnel during on-site training sessions
- a caretaker’s residence of 180 square metres
- a global training, visitor, research and development, and cafeteria building of 600 square metres
- a new farm management building of 600 square metres for 120 farm staff (the brick dwelling currently being used will be demolished)
- a new farm equipment/workshop building.
The construction cost of the development is anticipated to be $13.4 million over five years. The total value-added impact of the first five years is estimated to be $38.8 million.
The site is located within the Mount Lofty Ranges rural watershed, and is upstream from the Mount Bold Reservoir. This is raising environmental issues which require detailed investigation.
