Every day volunteers offer their energy and enthusiasm to add value and make a difference to communities. They deserve to have their efforts recognised and appreciated by their organisation and the communities that benefit from their work.

Formal recognition
Through the Office for Volunteers, the following prestigious State Volunteers Day Awards are presented to outstanding South Australians every year:
- The Joy Noble Medal recognises outstanding service in South Australian Government volunteer programs
- The Andamooka Community Project Award recognises volunteers who have undertaken a community project that has led to a significant community benefit through innovation and resourcefulness
- The Premier’s Business Award in Volunteering recognises the valuable contribution of the business sector to the community through its support of volunteering
These awards are presented at a special ceremony held on South Australia’s Volunteers Day, 14 June each year.
