Disability SA self-managed funding

Self-managed funding gives people with disabilities control over their support funding. They can choose how, where and when they receive support. It is also known as individualised funding.

Self-managed funding can range from a direct payment to a person with a disability to enable them to arrange and purchase the support they require, through to arrangements which support a person with a disability to make decisions about how money should be spent on their behalf.

Fifty people will be selected by a panel for a self-managed funding initiative over 12 months. They will receive training and support in self-management and must agree to take part in an evaluation of this initiative.

How to register your interest

Participants need to be current clients of Disability SA and have an existing allocation of support.

To register your interest:

1.   read the self-managed funding information pack (Word 1.4MB) (PDF 289KB)
2.   complete the online application form.

Registrations close Thursday 26 November 2009 at 5.00pm.

This initiative won’t be for everyone. Disability SA will maintain its services for those who prefer not to participate.
