Disability Services has
offices throughout South Australia and provides support to access:
- short term or occasional support
- support at home
- family support and respite care
- day options and recreation
- accommodation
- equipment and aids
- therapy.
If Disability Services does not have an office in your area, they will work with local services to arrange support or provide a visiting service. Priority is given to people in most urgent need. For more information see the Disability Services information sheet.

If you live in rural and remote regions, a free advisory service travels around the state allowing you to view and trial a range of equipment and discuss your needs with an occupational therapist. To find out when they are visiting your area see the Independent Living Centre outreach calendar or phone 1300 885 886 (SA/NT callers only) or 8266 5260.

Help with travel and accommodation costs
If you need to receive specialist medical treatment that is not available in your local area, the Patient Assistance Transport Scheme provides some financial reimbursement to eligible country patients with the cost of travel and accommodation.
Anyone who needs to travel with you may also be eligible for financial reimbursement.
