Overview
The two licences are intended to cover different levels of risk involved in asbestos removal work. Please note that once licensed, you must still make an application for each and every asbestos removal job that you wish to perform.
Limited licence
This licence enables the holder to remove only non-friable asbestos-containing material.
Unlimited licence
This licence enables the holder to remove any form of asbestos material, friable and non-friable.
Requirements for both licences
Applicants will need to complete an application form, provide additional information as outlined on the form and include the nominated fee.
All persons supervising asbestos removal work for the applicant must have completed a written exam at SafeWork SA.

Application for removal of asbestos
You must apply for approval each time you remove asbestos. You can download an
application for removal of asbestos form from the Safework SA website.
Applications to remove asbestos will only be processed for holders of a current asbestos-removal licence.
