Colours and high contrast
When designing this site, a high contrast version was developed using colours that provide maximum contrast between foreground and background items. You can switch to the high contrast version by clicking on 'high contrast version' in the footer of any page.
Separation of design and code
All pages have been developed with a clean distinction between code and design. This is so screen readers and other accessible browsers have the best possible chance to read the site properly.
Guidelines
sa.gov.au strives to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 and is regularly audited to continue to try to achieve that standard. We will always endeavour to implement new technologies that allow us to improve the accessibility of this site.
Screen resolution
This site was developed for a screen size of 1024 x 768 pixels or above, in response to the W3schools statistics that state this was the most popular used resolution at the time of design (2008). The site works on all higher resolutions.
Popular modern browsers
The site also works in the top three modern browsers Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome.
Hot keys
Our current site does not support hot keys at this time.
Face to face service
If you are having difficulties navigating to the information you are after, you are most welcome to visit a customer service centre where our staff would be happy to assist you in anyway to find the information you require.
Translation services are available
If you need information translated and you reside in South Australia, phone the Telephone Interpreter Service (TIS) on 13 14 50 then ask the interpreter to phone Service SA on 13 23 24.
